This was absolutely a unique YA thriller and the premise was so well done, it sucked me in from the beginning. When we first meet Chiamaka and Devon I was so confused how they fit together and why Devon was chosen as a prefect when he was - by all accounts - a nobody and not someone who usually wins things like this. As we dive deeper into the story I was still confused what was happening until it becomes glaringly apparent and equally shocking. This book deals with so many things - race, homophobia, class structure and so much more. It was a page turner and really well written to keep you guessing until the very end. I think it would make an amazing movie as well, to have a YA thriller featuring Black actors, it would be great to see. This one is for those who read the same thrillers often and need something new, and who will learn from this social commentary
