I wasn't sure what to expect when a book is described as Gossip Girl Meets Get Out. It's been years since I've read Gossip Girl and it wasn't my favorite. But the cover and the fact that this has Black and biracial leads made it intriguing. And after a little bit of set up I was along for the ride.
This story takes place at a boarding school that is not quite American but not quite British either. This thriller dark academia keeps you on edge with twists and turns. Devon and Chiamaka are selected to be apart of an elite program at their school when they are harassed by Aces who leak private messages, photos, and videos of them. They take it upon themselves to uncover Aces identity and fix their crumbling reputations.
Thought a little slow at first this book picks up the pace. Both main characters are well developed and this is a strong debut by a promising author.
