Devon and Chiamaka are Black students navigating an all-White private school. Up until now—their final year—they’ve had little troubles with this; Devon excels at music, Chiamaka is the popular head girl. But now, an anonymous texter named Aces is harassing them, spreading not-so-false rumors that ostracize them from their friends and teachers and that could ruin their chances of getting into college.
This book was amazing. Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé’s writing style was perfect for this book, and as it is her first I can’t wait to see what she does next. As for the plot itself, I was intrigued the whole time and could not put it down. Although there were a few twists I could predict, there were even bigger ones I could not. Finally, the characters were lovely and so well-developed.
This is one of my favorites now! Please read this, you will not regret it.
