Already, I can tell this will be a book I'll like--because one of the main characters is so patently unlikable, and yet feels justified in her hostility. I always find the elite-mean-girl-who-actually-has-good-reasons-to-be-mean types interesting to read about, so I'm very curious to see how Chiamaka's side of the story will pan out. The other narrator seems a little passive now, but given the cliffhanger this excerpt ended with, I have no doubt he will become an interesting player soon as well.
