The way this short excerpt from the book ended left me surprised. I expected some challenges for Devon during the school year and hoped the year would hold positives for him with his music, making friends, etc,. I expected a clash, perhaps, between him and Chiamaka. I hoped Chia would experience some enlightenment or something happening anyway which would change her behavior. I hope the best for Devon. I’m sure many young adults would find the book interesting.
