"A Tempest of Tea" brews a tantalizing blend of good characters and some really cool world building, reminiscent of the intrigue in "Six of Crows." The narrative's enjoyable style keeps readers hooked from start to finish. Let's just say it's like sipping a perfectly brewed cuppa—smooth and thoroughly enjoyable. But here's the problem for me: the promised vampire tearoom? It's like a tantalizing pastry that's only half-baked, leaving you craving more. I would have loved to see the book lean more into some world building that was promised but left unexplored. Additionally, the plot can sometimes feel confusing, where I couldn't quite follow how point A related to point B. While the relationships simmer nicely, they could have used a bit more time on the stove to really develop. Despite these quirks, "A Tempest of Tea" is a satisfying and flavorful read, though a tad weaker than anticipated.
