This is the first book I’ve read from Hafsah Faisal and I absolutely love her style! The world of White Roaring is reminiscent of Peaky Blinders’ setting, with cobblestone streets and danger lurking around every corner. I enjoyed Arthie’s motley crew of misfits and their interactions with each other. I was invested in Arthie’s plan and was really hoping it would all go in her favor. She’s an independent badass that I resonated with but unfortunately, she put her trust in the wrong person 🥲 admittedly, so did I!
I’m glad this is a duology and that we get to continue the story in book two. I also appreciated the triple point of view, but would have loved to get some scenes from the other members of the group. The addition of the vampires was well executed. This plot was different than the typical fantasy books I read and I’m happy that I gave it a shot!
