A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal completely knocked my socks off — I’m throughly absorbed in the worldbuilding, the lives of the characters, and the plot. I can barely wait for the sequel!
The writing is as lovely and dynamic as the cover — I adored Arthie Casimir right from the beginning. This story balances fantasy, romance, revenge, and character growth with aplomb. It has a great deal of emotional depth while also being a page-turner, which is impressive. As a criminal mastermind and blackmailer, Arthie Casimir is a really dynamic and morally grey character — aka one of my favorite archetypes to read. This is a very good story for parents and teens to read together, as there’s a little bit for everyone here — whether you love heists, vampires, romance, intrigue, or cultural issues that reflect our own society, it’s all here. Highly recommend!
