People say not to judge a book by its cover, but in this case I loved the cover and I loved the book, so it all worked out! There's something about the illustration that really grabbed my attention, and then the plot of the book held it until the last page. I'm not usually a huge fan of romance in this type of book, but I thought that plot line was really well done here. I also liked the storyline in general, it did not seem like every other book I've read before. The world building is awesome, and then there are the vampires...enough said! The characters are compelling and well developed, I really cared about what happened and felt like their actions made sense for the way that they were described--that's not always the case, and it drives me nuts when I think I understand a character but then can't figure out why they acted like they did. Overally, I am a big fan of this book and will definitely read the next one!
