A Tempest of Tea was incredible. I devoured this book in just a couple days, but have been thinking about it for a couple weeks. I'm so excited for book two, but I am dreading the wait.
This book was full of secrets, vampires, mystery, and intrigue surrounding one ragtag group that formed an unlikely family. This book is slow to work up to to the action, but every line of dialogue and every description is clearly intentional. The prose is gorgeous, with winding descriptions and action-driven characterization. The cast of characters are puzzling and multi-faceted, and each new event shows us fresh perspectives and feelings. Some have shadier motivations than others, and all have surprising secrets. Arthie, Jin, Flick, Matteo, and even Laith are dear to my heart, motivations be darned.
This is a book I will treasure and reread for long to come! I cannot wait to see where the rest of this story takes us.
