Whoa, color me impressed by these first couple chapters. I know it's supposed to be similar to Six of Crows but that comparison is not always accurate - this time it is! I thought there was a good balance of exposition as we enter this new fantasy world, and I am excited there is a map! I like the multiple POVs as well, voices are distinct already.
The cover is interesting, not necessarily my favorite and I had no idea there were going to be vampires just glancing at it. (Although now I look at it again and notice there is blood in the tea cup...very clever.)
I definitely want to read more because I zoomed through this first impression faster than ever before, and I am excited to see where the plot goes. Maybe there will even be a heist like SoC?? One can hope. The writing is beautiful and I can already tell I will love it. I am also interested to see how many POVs we end up with as more characters are introduced.
