WE HUNT THE FLAME is one of my favorite books so it comes as no surprise that I was really excited when Hafsah announced A TEMPEST OF TEA and revealed the stunning cover. I've always been interested in tea as a plot device and although we don't see too much of it in the First Impression, it was enough to keep me invested. That, and Arthie, Mateo, and Jin. The latter seems to be the Altair of this series (considering it's set in the WE HUNT THE FLAME universe, I find it sort of funny but can also see how some might think its all kind of similar - found family, similar personality types, morally grey characters, etc), although I hesitate to designate him that way too much since he IS his own character and I've only read the first 20 or so pages.

I did hear that there would be a love triangle in this book and it seems like Mateo will be one leg of it. I'm interested in his character and already feel a tiny bit attached so I'm praying the other person is not as compelling. The overall vibe of this book is so different from WE HUNT THE FLAME, despite it being set in the same universe, and I'm curious to see how or if Hafsah connects them together.

Overall, a great start and I'm looking forward to reading more!
