The opening chapters of A Tempest of Tea have enough strong elements blended in a unique fashion to make this stand out from the competition. We've seen vampires, of course, but the idea of a teahouse catering to them was very interesting, solidifying the idea that they just want to blend in, rather than stand out as terrifying monsters. The little details about the tea blends, the transformation of the building, the "sword in the stone" allusion with the pistol, all lend to a great start.
