I really want to give it 4.5 stars so that is what I am going to do. It really wasn’t an “oh my stars” amazing, but it really left me with such a good wholesome feeling that I feel like that’s what it needs from me.
I have to be honest, as I usually am, and say that I listened to the audiobook for this one. I know that I would not have been able to get through the entire thing by reading it physically. The diary entries would have made me crazy if I would have. Listening to them, however, was wonderful. I believe that this would make a good movie that, if done right, could do really well.
I enjoyed both of the main characters selflessness and how they were working hard because of the other people in their lives. I appreciate how Millie gives up so much so that she can take care of Grandma Joy after Grandma Joy did so much for her.
