This book's cover and synopsis grabbed my attention. The cover is beautiful, very not-ostentatious and overdone, just sweet and pretty. I love a great mystery, along with a good dose of suspense and romance. It's right up my alley.
Millie seems like a strong personality, which I love. And I love what I see from the relationship she has with Grandma Joy. They seem so close and adoring. I also can't wait to see more of Ben; he seems solid.
The writing seems genuine to the time period, but it's fortunately not too wordy or fancy or logorrheic, which is always good. The style of writing is also very sophisticated and true to the characters.
