Mercy, forgiveness and love sparkle in the midst of the trials our main characters are enduring in this novel with a connection to the past. Millie and Ben become partners in a treasure hunt when they are still strangers. As they hunt for treasure on the grounds of the chateau, have they also found priceless treasure in each other? Or will the secrets of the past tear them apart? Grandma Joy was actually my favorite character. She is so spunky! The story is told in the present day with journal entries and a letter filling in gaps in the story from the year 1929 when the chateau was in its heyday. An enjoyable read. I hope some of these characters return in future additions to the Georgia Coast Series.
