I certainly enjoyed this book in some ways, but overall, I found it to be quite lacking as far as the plot goes. I very much so enjoyed Last Night at the Telegraph Club. In fact, I would say it is one of my favorite books, so I was very excited to read this book. I, unfortunately, found that I did not like this book nearly as much. I did enjoy the way she wrote the characters and found the main character to be relatable, but I was often frustrated at her. I felt for her and how she was coming to terms with who she was and discovering herself and I felt bad for her when she had feelings for someone she couldn’t have. But I become increasingly more frustrated as she continued to pursue her after finding out she had a girlfriend. I was very disappointed in her when she got with her. I did not feel like she felt enough remorse for her actions. I think she should have felt worse about what she had done and been more apologetic to her girlfriend. I certainly appreciated the connection to her other book and thought the cover was beautiful but I had many problems with the story.
