Hope the main character's perspective shifts

I can't help but notice the strict rules the protagonist has around what is normal behavior for males and females. I've never considered it odd for a woman to shake a man's hand, but for some reason she thinks that's something only men do. Hoping this is just to show how her perspective changes as the story goes on.
