I was completely blown away by how much I loved this book! It had a bit of a slow start, but once the story really got going, it did not stop! This is an epic sibling rivalry to go down in the record books! Eva is so insecure and struggles with how her life has played out so far. Watching her grow into a fierce young woman was well worth it. Her sister, Isa, is so terrible and I love it. If you hate the character cast as villain, they were written properly, and Isa was just an awful person! Their mother is pretty awful as well, but as the story went on I wondered if she really was as bad as portrayed... The magic system in this series is really interesting and there was so much lore and backstory, really, not enough pages in the book to encompass the amount of backstory we needed to learn! I wanted Baccha to just go on forever about the past. Honestly, I just wanted Baccha in every scene, period. I loved him. I could do with or without the romance with Aketo, it didn't really matter for me. I loved the lore and the plot and the world-building, and I definitely need to know more about what's going to happen to Eva next!
