Glamorous, intense, pager-turner, gripping.
Fantastic world building, and character driven novel reminding me of Egypt. I didn't feel this was a novel about sibling rivalry, but more about the main character Eva taking on the responsibility of learning about her heritage and becoming queen. Her blood magick is hidden and she doesn't know how to use it so she's left searching and finding help for her type of unique magick.
I loved the four different races, human, fey, bloodkin, and khimaer along with the dancing under the blood moon descriptions. I was hoping that the novel would cover more about her sister, mother and father, but the point of view is mostly from Eva and what's happening to her. Personally I didn't like how she cried and fainted quite a bit in the story, it drew me away from the strength of her character. The world building, and story telling is fantastic definitely a must read.
