I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did because the cover looked so YA fantasy cliche. Even plot sounded recycled. That was not the case though. This book is entirely original. It takes the YA fantasy norms and changes it up. The characters are interesting and three dimensional. They were more than a Katniss rerun. I like the cover and dislike it. The fierce girls ready for battle is a bit overused but the artistry of it is gorgeous. It is the same as the book very similar but with a twist. I have not yet decided if I will purchase it for the library because I already have so much recently published fantasy that I don’t know that this book would stand out. I will wait for more reviews.
