If you like magic, romance, self discovery and fantasy/adventure, then I'd pick this book up! The writing was really top notch. There were some parts that had me laughing out loud and other parts that I felt were really important and insightful. The characters are strong, smart, capable, and believable. Eva especially is stubborn, sassy, and really fleshed out as a character. You're never at a loss for how she's feeling, and I found her very easy to relate to, despite the fact that she lives in a magical universe, largely different from ours.
The whole story reads like one big adventure/murder attempt after another. The world building is really nice too. It took me a while but by the end, I was completely absorbed and so mad that I'll have to wait for a sequel to come out. The universe the characters in this novel live in is really rich and diverse. The characters find people attractive across their different races and genders which I really appreciated and found refreshing. I will definitely be waiting for the sequel to this book to come out now!
