Honestly, the cover was not my favorite and I put off reading this book because of it. When I did read it though, I found it interesting and sped through it really quickly. I was drawn in by Eva, who by the way, has a really cool power even if she can't use it fully. It is much better than her sister, Isa, whose power of persuasion seems to have corrupted her.
I really enjoyed reading about all the other races that populate this world, from the bloodkin to the fey and the coolest of all, the khimaer. All is not well with the kingdoms though and Eva has to deal with assassins along with trying to find out the secrets of her magic and her past. It makes for an exciting story and there is quite a twist that makes me excited for the next book to come out!
