I am very conflicted with my feeling concerning this book. First, I want to say I was extremely disappointed because the blurb said it was set in a North African set world and I didn't feel like it was at all. Despite my feeling in this regard I did enjoy the world building, the people of the different tribes, and all of the magic that was described in the story. I thought the author did a wonderful job.
Some of what I didn't quite like was the character development. I love a strong female lead and the sibling rivalry had a lot of promise, but I though that their emotions and the reasoning for why Eva did everything she did needed to be explored a little bit more. I am definitely still going to read her next book because I need to see how her writing evolves.
