Normally the cover alone would be enough to draw me right to the book. A promise of magic, fantasy, rivalry and violence usually sings to my soul. However, as I read the first look too much was held back. Too much was boring and foreign. There was not enough action in the beginning to hold my attention to the story. Perhaps my taste is changing. Perhaps I’m just not in the mood for fantasy. Whatever the case, I am unsure that this book is right for me. Maybe one day I will pick it up and love it. Today is not that day.
