I was immediately drawn into the story by the author's gorgeous and stunning world-building. In just only 3 chapters, readers learn about the history, politics, and culture of the kingdom in addition to our main characters and central plot. The excerpt left me wanting to learn more about the magic, prophecies, and court intrigue. This story seems like it will appeal to fans of fantasy with complex magic systems, social injustice, and complex family dynamics.

I absolutely love the cover! It's striking, colorful, and gives clues into both the world and magic. I'll be reading more because I'm intrigued by the relationship between the rival sisters and the history and mythology of the kingdom.
