This has the feeling of "Three Dark Crowns," with two princesses bound to kill each other for the throne for tradition.

I enjoyed the magical system shown in the first couple chapters, with different magics, and the glimpse of the world itself, with its magical people, normal people and fae, and how they all shared a world in not-so-perfect harmony.

However, I don't think this is going to be a book I'll continue reading. I wasn't sucked into the story right away, and it feels too YA fantasy standard. I also DNF'd Three Dark Crowns because I didn't care for the writing style or the storyline, and this does feel similar.

I do think that those who enjoyed Three Dark Crowns will probably find a lot to love in this book, because it does sound fascinating. It's just not for me.
