Very interesting start. There is a great deal of world building in chapter one but it gives insight into the multicultural nature of the characters. The second chapter shows the danger the princess faces not only from her mother and the court but by the dark nature of her sister Isadore who seems destined to rule as Eva can’t control her magick and has no idea how to weld it.
As a woman of color myself I was excited to read a book with characters whom are of varying shades which can be uncommon in high fantasy stories. I look forward to reading the rest of this interesting book.
