I've heard a lot about this book lately, everyone wants to compare it to Children of Blood and Bone, and while I see how easy it would be to compare these two books, it does "A River of Royal Blood" no real good because comparing it to another slightly similar book will either set expectations way too high, or turn people off because they think they've already read this story before. The two books might have similar concepts, but Joy and Adeyemi's writing styles are so different and the characters are also built differently. I am excited to read "A River of Royal Blood" because of the character building, the writing style and just because the concept is something that I want to see more of.
