Families are complicated. Growing up an only child, Stella has constantly fought to be her own person. Her father, a pastor, has always had an expectation of who Stella should become. One night, Stella's future seemingly takes an unexpected turn.

Presented in three parts, A Nearly Normal Family recounts the story from the perspective of Stella's father, Stella, and finally her mother. Each storyline provides a slightly skewed view of the truth, but as the reader approaches the climax of the story you quickly learn things may not always be what you thought. Any parent knows you will go to the ends of the earth to protect your child, but how far are you willing to go when a life is on the line? Can you do it? Do you trust your spouse enough to get through this entire ordeal?

A solid story with a few shaky pieces near the finale. Honestly, I could've done without the mother's perspective in this story. It seemed much more dull compared to Stella and her father's views - and a rough way to finish off the story too.
