This is a legal thriller set in modern day Sweden, in a small town that presents as a peaceful home to some, and “boring” to the younger generation.
Written in a 3 part narrator perspective, which I appreciated over a chapter by chapter change: the perspectives give great insight into the events as we move along to trial.
The characters were likeable though flawed, which I love in a good book, and the suspense of this novel held my attention right to the end!

I found the first part to be the slowest, as pretrial always is, but especially as it was told by the father who is a pastor. He struggles with his beliefs and his desire to help cover up for his family!

The last two parts whizzed past! The trial and perspectives of the mother and daughter and the courtroom scenes were amazing, the suspense was killing me and I truly had no idea how to solve this crime. I loved this book, and highly recommend it, but I caution there is content warnings for murder and rape.

This was everything I needed from a great legal thriller!
