I’m pretty surprised by how much I loved this book! I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a big fan of courtroom dramas or legal thrillers, as this one is described as, but Edvardsson knocked it out of the park! I was extremely impressed by this story and it kept me up way past my bedtime for a couple of nights. I honestly couldn’t put it down. A 17-year-old teenage girl is accused of killing a 32-year-old man. What follows is a twisty-turny tale of family dynamics. I absolutely loved the format of this novel. It’s broken down into three parts. Part one is told from the father’s perspective, in part two we hear from the daughter and then the mother concludes the story in part three. In you’re a fan of multiple points of view, then you should read this book immediately.
Throughout the entire novel, I kept putting myself in this couple’s shoes. How would I react if this was my own daughter? Would I have similar actions? How far would I go to protect my child? The author definitely gets you thinking and reflecting on your own life.
