Let me start by saying how well each and every character was portrayed in this book. Each one had so many dimensions and truly felt real. There wasn't a single instance where any of them felt rushed or fell flat. I loved getting the perspectives from each of the main family, as well as seeing what made Amina tick, too. It really felt like you were a part of this family dynamic, that was so dysfunctional on the inside but so "normal" and perfect on the outside. If it didn't remind me you a bit of your own family, then you're probably in denial!

I also loved how short each chapter was and how the entire book was broken into three main sections. It was easy to read just one more chapter (ok, I'm lying, a few more) every night because they were only a few pages each. I hate having to put a book down in the middle of the chapter because it's so long, but I never had to do that here. And while I fell in love with each and every main character and wanted more from their perspectives when their sections were complete, it was so easy to fall in love with the next one and go with the flow. Everything just fell in line so seamlessly. There was nothing left unturned. But most of all, it was all believable.

Every book I read seems to be my new favorite and think no other will be able to top it, but I truly think A Nearly Normal Family will give any other book published this year a run for their money! M.T. Evardsson has such an amazing knack for writing that he pulls you straight into the world he created, without you ever even realizing you've left the real world.
