I was hooked from the start of the book! The story follows a family of 3. Father and pastor Adam, lawyer and mother Ulrika, and their strong willed 18 year old daughter Stella.
They seemed to be a nice normal family until the day the call comes in that Stella is in jail accused of murdering a 32 year old man. The story is told from all 3 perspectives, beginning with Adam. Red flags are raised like crazy as he recounts Stella's childhood and incidents that have occurred. Then you get to Stella's perspective on accounts and I found myself hanging on to every word and wanting to know what happened! Finally, he mom steps in with her account of the story and it all ties together for an explosive ending.
How well do we know out kids and also---how much do they see of their parents imperfections? Do we defend our family at all cost?
