WOW. I cannot believe how excellent this book was. I think my head may still be reeling...

A Nearly Normal Family is the story of 17 year old Stella, who is accused of murdering 32 year old Chris Olsen, and the lengths to which her mother, a lawyer, and her father, a pastor, will go to in order to protect their daughter.

I am not going to go into a lot of detail about this book because I don't want to give anything away. But, YOU NEED TO READ IT. This is easily one of my top 5 favorites of 2019. The story starts off strong and fast, dropping the reader into the midst of teen angst and drama. The book is split into three parts: The Father, The Daughter, and The Mother. Each part is narrated by the corresponding character. The chapters are short, which made reading this book easy and fast. The chapters also switch back and forth between pre-murder and post-murder, which made the anticipation to find out what happens next even more intense.

Above all else, the story was SO GOOD. I had hunches, then changed my mind, then had no idea. There were several twists, and nothing seemed too far-fetched or unrealistic to me. The writing style (yes, it is a translation) was wonderful, the execution was fantastic. I really can't rave enough about this book!
