This excerpt is so suspenseful! From the first few pages you can tell that this is going to be a story of a well to do family with a halfway spoiled teenage daughter getting into some sort of trouble. Since part one is titled with "Father" I can only imagine that the other parts will be pulled from another's perspective, which is something I love in fiction books. You can start to tell the history of the family without the character needing to go into great detail about their past. This mystery is very much along the lines of something I would like to read. You can tell that the father is put in a precarious situation and may need to do something immoral in order to stand up for his daughter. Considering he is a pastor, this will surely lead to some internal dilemma. This will be going in my to-be-read pile!
