Angie Kim introduced me to the world of legal thrillers and I was excited from the start at the prospects of A Nearly Normal Family.

Although slow to start, I resonated with the father. His desire to not condone the doings, or said doings, of his daughter but his love for her as his flesh and blood brought him to the very pinnacle of his life teachings. I questioned myself. How far would I go for my own child? Would I lie in court?

Unfortunately I wasn’t as thrilled with the story of the daughter or the mother.

Told in a three part series, each one hoping to draw you in a different direction, I felt like I was lost in the diversity of the characters. I wanted resolution but I was left with mixed voices of reasons I couldn’t understand.
