I was a little disappointed with this book. I had high hopes because it was a book of the month book that people were raving about. I like a lot of courtroom mystery drama type of things.
The story follows a family: Stella and her parents. Her father is a pastor and her mother is a lawyer. The story is told in three parts, with each main character telling a chunk. 18 year old Stella is accused of murdering a man 15 years older than her in a park. There is a witness, evidence, and secrets.
From pretty early on in the story, I had two ideas for the ending. And unfortunately, one of those guesses was correct. I hate when things are too predictable. It didn't have a good twist for me. And it was translated so a few times, the words didn't flow perfectly.
