"We were a perfectly ordinary family, and then every thing changed. It takes a long time to build a life, but only an instant for it to crumble." We never know what lies ahead for us and this book is a perfect example of that.

The story grabbed me immediately. The writing is very smooth, the characters are well-fleshed out. I particularly liked how the author handles the inner turmoil of each character. What takes priority in your life; your faith, love and loyalty to your family, protectiveness towards your child? What defines who you are, and how stretchable are those lines? Moral and ethical battles abound within each of the characters. I especially liked the juxtaposition of the faith of the father (a pastor) being put to the test and the mother's fact-driven legal knowledge and duty.

I look forward to reading this book!
