Although I have never read the Edgar poe which the book is written like, I found you didn't need to in order to figure it out. The book is written by different points of view which I enjoyed and believed helped develop the story. I found the book was easy to read and follow. I do like the cover of the book, but unsure if it really shows what to expect from the book. I think the characters were relatable and descriptive. The land that the author writes about is very descriptive and well formulated. You truly feel like you've transferred to that time. I was unsure if I would like Gothic style writing but found myself pleasantly surprised from the book. There is some suspense to the book and the story which makes you keep wanting to read and not stop until you figure it out. I really enjoyed the sample and look forward to reading more from the author!
