From the cover to the very first line of this book, this story draws you in. The combination of YA fantasy and Edgar Allen Poe's somewhat disturbing work is both intriguing and exciting. While the obvious fantasy side draws to fantasy lovers everywhere, the more classical themes tied to the inspiration taken from Edgar Allen Poe brings a diverse audience to the table. I am personally very excited to read this book, from the preview it delivers on both the promise of a comforting familiar fantasy setting, along with something new. YA fantasy can get old easily due to the similar story lines that seem to be rebranded and used over and over again. The eerie feelings this book evokes sets it apart from a lot of YA fantasy which makes me very excited to read it. The main character's wit which already shines through in just the first chapter, makes the book enticing and exciting. I am very excited to read this book.
