I really enjoyed this book! It was a very dystopian tale, yet still very regal and Royal. I enjoyed the take on the mythology and the religious system. I am usually not a fan of books that are based on Jewish culture, especially not when they are billed as mythology, but I think that this story was very respectful to the religion and people who practice it.
I think that the story is a little bit slow at point and has some weak character development at points. I don’t think that is to the detriment of the story, but it could be fleshed out a bit more.
The one part about this story that I was so confused about was the vampires? Like what was the point of that? It didn’t feel like it was a need. It was woven into the story and didn’t feel overly superfluous but I felt like it wasn’t 100% necessary to the plot.
