I am greatly intrigued by what I’ve read so far. The author leads off with Seraphina, a young Jewish girl who looks quite similar to Princess Imogen that when the Bloody Three takes her life, young Seraphina is groomed to take her place. As the years go by, Seraphina yearns to escape, return home where she belongs.
On the flip side is Nico, a young nobleman who is now a servant of sorts to a Lord Craven. His family has died from the plague yet he is immune. He longs to help others and in a way, he is. But he wants to be a doctor. Outside of Craven Manor, they’ve buried the dead they’ve come across and gathered the survivors. Are there more? Have any in the capitol survived?
From the synapses, I am led to believe these two will join forces at some point. By what I e read so far, I really want to see where the author is headed with the story so I can see if they do meet. Will they get away from those confining them?
My first impression is one of enjoyment and excitement for more.
