I've read a couple other books by this author and although I enjoyed them, I didn't feel they were particularly special. A Multitude of Dreams breaks this trend. First of all, I've always been a sucker for retellings and I love Poe. The plot reminds me of M. A. Carrick's work in a generic but addictive way. However, what really gets me is the way the book was written; it just sucked me right in.
