Only a few chapters in I can tell this is the Gothic fantasy adventure I've been waiting for my whole life. Royals pretending to be commoners and destitute peasants pretending to be Lords? Alliances formed of and despite dark secrets? Plus a mysterious plague that has already decimated most of the outside world and left the remnants almost unrecognizable? AND the cover art is just gorgeous!! I absolutely cannot wait for more.
