I will never turn down a buddy read with @and.a.good.book and this was such a fun one! Plus look at that cover!?
Here’s what I loved about this book:
• a competition at the palace
• the art of tea making
• sweet romance
• yummy food descriptions
This book was the perfect blend of cozy and addictive fantasy. I will definitely read book two after that cliffhanger. The setting and the worldbuilding had such an atmospheric feel that I was immediately sucked in. I loved the competition and would definitely say that this had cozy Selection vibes. My only complaint was that the pacing was a wee bit slow and by the end I found myself skimming a bit out of boredom. However, the first half killed it and almost made up for the lack of high-stakes action in the second half of the story!!
