Not quite my cup of tea
I REALLY wanted to like this book more then I did in the end. The premise sounded so cool and fascinating and I was excited to start reading. Not to mention that the cover is absolutely gorgeous. However once I started reading it fell a little flat. Maybe I just hyped it up in my mind too much before I started it.
That being said, I don't regret reading this book at all. The magic tea system was still very interesting and I liked learning about the different tea methods. The disconnect for me was really with the characters themselves. I also felt like there really wasn't any strong character development over the course of the story. And that might in part be because there is a sequel; which I will probably end up reading still.
I did really like the princess and her body guard though, their dynamic was probably my favorite part of the entire story.
