This is an amazing new YA story with a cover as stunning as the story! I love that the sequel is coming out later this year so I don't have to wait years to spend more time in this world! As exciting as the tea magic is the thing that stood out to me the most was the lush descriptions of places, and flavors. Do not read this book while your hungry because whatever you cook up, it will not compare to what you're reading about. I am not usually a fan of super descriptive books, but there was something magical in this one. I am looking forward to seeing what this author writes after the series. The description of the competition and the riches of the palace had me a little worried about comparing it to the capital in the hunger games, but this city was its own richly layered character. I wish I could visit it sometime, just to see everything for myself. I look forward to reading the sequel!
