I liked this book well enough I guess. The magical system involves magical teas and the "powers" are inherited. The book started a bit slow for me but began to pick up around the middle somewhere. While the storyline had potential to be pretty cool, there was definitely more emphasis on the romance. Not quite as much magic involved as I would've liked. There also was no big confrontation and the villain storyline was more subtle than usual.
I do really love the cover art, it's really beautiful. This book just didn't quite live up to all the potential I thought it had after reading the synopsis. Although, it was enough to keep me interested enough to finish it. I guess I just wanted a bit more of, well, everything in this book. I will however, continue on and read the second book (A Venom Dark and Sweet) as I'm interested enough to see where this story goes.
