I think I made barely past the first page before I knew I was already intrigued. The chapter heading matches the beauty of the cover, as well as the line break. You don't see many books with creative line breaks like this one. The opening paragraph really packs a punch because our main character is mourning her mother, and what appears to be a sibling, and is already planning to leave on some kind of mission before she's caught out by her father and forced to stay out of guilt. That entire first page tells me that this is going to be an emotional journey for our main character, and I can't wait to go on it with her.
